How to Play Video Poker
Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a net account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to choose the most money-making game each and every instance.
Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that have been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the player a chance to double their profits, in which situation another game is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
